Ted Gahl (b. 1983) received his BFA from Pratt Institute in 2006 and his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2010. Gahl has exhibited paintings widely in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Steve Jackson (b. 1965) is a self taught painter using acrylics and mixed media. Each abstract piece is an exercise in emotion, improvisation and experimentation. He has worked as a Motion Picture and Television set painter for 22 years and incorporates many of those techniques in his process. Steve’s artwork has been shown in multiple galleries in Los Angeles over the past two decades.
With the inaugural exhibition at Kogen, the gravity of process and legacy live at the forefront. Like all aspects of the dining experience, the artworks are not only in conversation with one another, but with the implications of the material that comprise them.
Form is felt and gesture takes precedent. Every brush stroke, every angle, every elemental addition, is deeply considered to form a balanced whole.
